Our Renewable Energy Portfolio

40% of global carbon emissions result from the transportation sector, industrial processes, and the operation of buildings.
Electrifying the world’s commercial and industrial infrastructure is the critical next step to de-carbonization, and we should consider several tactics to speed progress toward this goal.
Energy efficiency is a major lever for reducing CO2 emissions along all parts of the energy chain—from the production of resources all the way to final consumption.
Abraxas, through its Sustainable Investment Fund, invests – among others – in renewable energy providing abundant and clean electricity, contributing to protect our environment.
As at June 2019, our “Apricus” Portfolio of PV plants produced globally 271,859,637 kWh, enough to supply electrical energy to more than 78,000 families, avoiding the emission of pollutant as Particulate Matter (PM), CO2, SO2, NOx, as follows:

Our Renewable Energy Portfolio 

Photovoltaics Solar Parks are large-scale photovoltaic systems (PV systems or plants in which the sunlight is – via photovoltaic modules – converted directly to electricity) designed for the supply of merchant power into the electricity grid.

As per EU Directives, power generation from photovoltaic source has priority of dispatch into the electricity grid, eliminating volume risk.
The predominantly contracted revenues of our portfolio (c. 78% of its output) are based on the Italian solar Feed In Tariff (Conto Energia), which unlike other regimes, is fully balanced as it is funded by consumer bills. The residual portion of revenues of our solar parks comes from the wholesale power prices on their production without any volume risk due to the priority to dispatch under the EU directive.

 

In July 2019, the Sustainable Investment Fund sold its “Apricus” Portfolio of photovoltaic solar parks of circa 26 MW in Italy and acquired a new one of photovoltaic greenhouses of circa 4 MW (“Elioliti” Portfolio).

 

As at June 2019, our “Elioliti” Portfolio of PV greenhouses produced globally 40,865,015 kWh, enough to supply electrical energy to more than 15,000 families, avoiding the emission of pollutant as Particulate Matter (PM), CO2, SO2, NOx, as follows:
