Risk Management

  • Abraxas’ approach to investments in Renewable Energy is always focused on a meticulous analysis of all elements of each project (technology, sponsors, size and location), with particular attention to verification of the economic models and obtaining an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) that justifies the risks of the project.

  • The Risk Assessment is one of the core elements of this analysis.

  • The risk plan adopts the methodology of the Project Management Institute (PMI) described in the document “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)” and guarantees a “systemic” approach to the management of project risks. This approach, through a process that begins with the preparation of the risks’ plan, defines the methodology to be followed for the risk management and covers the whole life cycle of the project through constant monitoring, identification, evaluation (qualitative and quantitative) and documentation of risk factors, the identification of potential mitigation actions and the subsequent monitoring of the elements of residual risk until their full resolution and up to the end of all the project activities.

  • The classification of the risk factors identified in terms of probability (P) and impact (I), allows to define a matrix of the Index of Risk (IR) according to the formula IR = I x P, whose values are grouped according to a classification of the risk probability and magnitudo levels, from a minimum (1) to a maximum (4), and are mapped in the relative graph, as here below:
