Balthazar Cazac

Strategic Advisor

Balthazar plays a key role in the SIF’s business development and project origination and in managing institutional relationships. Balthazar holds a Ph.D. in genetic engineering and molecular immunology from UCL, London. He carried out post-doctoral research in the UK and the US, before entering the renewable energy sector in early 2003 as a consultant in Europe and South East Asia. In 2006 he founded Cautha Srl, a utility scale solar PV plant developer and financial advisory firm.  He was then responsible for Italian M&A activities at Sunrock BV, a Dutch solar boutique asset manager. Prior to his collaboration with Abraxas as independent strategic advisor, he assisted leading Far East Asian investment firms in the deployment of capital in large-scale European solar and wind portfolios.



Andrea Guidoni

Asset Management Specialist and Corporate Consultant

Andrea has been collaborating since 2013 as a consultant for the EOS Sustainable Investment Fund, where he is the principal advisor for the Fund’s M&A activities and for the management of the SPVs (Single Purpose Vehicle). Before obtaining an MBA, Andrea has a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino. Prior to his collaboration with the SIF, Andrea had over 20 years of experience in managerial roles for two blue chip Italian industrial companies.



Luca Celati

Non-Executive Director/Advisor

Luca co-founded Abraxas Capital Management with Fabio Frontini in 2002 and actively participated in the launch of the first fund in 2003. Today he still holds a directorship in Abraxas Capital Management and advises on the firm’s business stragegy. Luca was the Global Head of Risk Management in the Debt Division of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DRKW) in London for three years. Before that, he was involved in a Private Equity deal at an industrial company in northern Italy. Earlier in his career, he was in Proprietary Credit Trading and Sovereign Bond Arbitrage at Bankers Trust in New York and London. He has had other independent consulting assignments in Risk Management. Luca is the author of The Dark Side of Risk Management (FT-Prentice Hall, October 2004). He was awarded an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business, Northwestern University in 1988. He holds a Laurea in Economics from LUISS in Rome (1984).



Luca Frontini

Non-Executive Director/Advisor

Luca, after an experience as portfolio manager, still acts as an advisor in respect of strategies with an Emerging Market bias for Abraxas’ advisory platform for managed accounts. Luca started his career as an Economist at the World Bank in 1996. In 2000 he moved to Pioneer Investments in Dublin where he worked as a portfolio manager on the US and Far East Equity desk and then on the Global Equity desk in charge of specialised equity products. In late 2003, Luca moved to China and in 2004 created Lombarda China Fund Management Co., the first ever Sino-Italian Fund Management Joint Venture. Luca was the CEO of Lombarda China from 2005 to 2009, managing about USD 1 bn. in investments in China and advising foreign financial institutions on investments in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Luca holds a Masters degree in International Economics from SAIS, Johns Hopkins University and a Master in Financial Engineering and Business Studies from Bocconi University and University College Dublin.
